Benefits Manager

Position Summary:
We are looking for a Benefits Manager to lead and manage our employee benefits programs across the organization. This role is responsible for ensuring our benefits are well-run, compliant, and meeting the needs of our employees. As a 100% employee-owned company, our benefits, especially our ESOP, play an important role in how we support and retain our team. You’ll be the go-to resource for benefits questions, oversee enrollment and leave programs, and work closely with HR, payroll, and leadership to keep our programs running smoothly and efficiently.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Manage day-to-day administration of all employee benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plans (401(k) and ESOP)
  • Oversee benefits enrollment and eligibility in the HRIS system, ensuring accurate data and timely vendor reporting
  • Serve as the main point of contact for employees and managers with benefits questions or issues
  • Plan and run the annual open enrollment process, including communication and employee support
  • Administer leave of absence programs (FMLA, medical, disability, personal leave) and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state laws including ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, and ERISA
  • Work with HR, payroll, and finance to improve processes, reporting, and overall efficiency
  • Manage relationships with benefits vendors and resolve issues as they arise
  • Support employee understanding of benefits through clear, ongoing communication

What We’re Looking For

  • Solid understanding of employee benefits programs and applicable regulations
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain benefits clearly to employees at all levels
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and follow-through
  • Organized and able to manage multiple priorities at once
  • Comfortable working with HR systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • A team player who can work across departments and build strong working relationships

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Experience mentoring or supporting others in a benefits function
  • Professional certification (CEBS, SHRM-CP, PHR, etc.)
