The Developer BI Analyst is responsible for data collection and cleaning, exploration and visualization for BI solutions and semantic modeling solutions. Developer BI Analyst should be coordinating with data engineering team, analytics team and testing team to ensure data accuracy and optimize performance. Support the daily Operations on the modern cloud BI platform.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below.
- Performs Data collection from various data sources and clean the data (data for errors, inconsistencies, missing values, duplicate check and fix them using related tools for data accuracy and quality for ETL purposes
- Develops a deep familiarity with a variety of data sources including transactional databases, data warehouses, internal tools, and external integrations
- Ability to understand Enterprise Data warehouse and datamart models and work closely with BI analytics team to help them understand the column mapping for reports.
- Work with the necessary key stakeholders in Operating Groups and IT Business Partner teams to ensure enhancement/bug fixes needs to be addressed on priority.
- Responsible for the maintenance of an effective control environment under SOX 404 for the accounting operations overseen. This includes both key and non-key controls and extends to the timely updating and modification of control design where necessary and the oversight of control remediation activities should exceptions be encountered in testing.
- Work with Operations teams to minimize the production issues/bug fixes to improve productivity
- Performs data exploration using BI tools (PowerBI, SSRS, Python, R, Excel)
- Create Predictive models using R, Python and project the model output in PowerBI
- Create Machine Learning models on the raw data
- Performs data testing for ETL pipelines and PowerBI dashboards/reports
- Performs summarizing and interpreting data results, highlighting the key findings, implications and limitations of analysis
- Documenting the analysis results
- Performs as-is analysis for existing data solutions
- Performs other related duties and activities as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Minimum Knowledge and Skills required for the Job
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required to perform the job.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in computer science, engineering or related field required
- Up to 5 year(s) of experience in Business Analytics tools, developing ETLs, Reports/Dashboards
- Understanding on Data Engineering technologies (Azure, AWS Cloud / MS MySQL, SSRS, SSIS Onprem)
- Understanding on Visualizations through Analytics tools (PowerBI)
- Understanding on Data Science techniques for ML ops (Python, R etc. )
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
- Vendor certification (Azure Data Engineering, PowerBI certifications, Snowflake Certifications.) preferred.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Understanding of Power BI skills; data modeling, DAX queries, chart customization, deployment pipelines, embedding
- Understanding with Power BI administrative tasks
- Understanding cloud technologies for ETL
- Understanding Data Science techniques for Machine Learning
- Ability to understand business domains to help analyze the data for analytics
- Understanding of SQL, T-SQL and PL/SQL knowledge against a variety of databases like SQL Server, Oracle, Hyperion and Cache
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Team-oriented with deep empathy and outstanding interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated creative problem solver
