BI Developer (Front-End / Visualization)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled BI Developer (Front-End) to design, build, and enhance business intelligence dashboards and analytics solutions. This role focuses exclusively on visualization, data modeling within BI tools, user experience, and requirements gathering, while our Data Engineering team manages all backend pipelines, data warehouses, and ETL processes.

The ideal candidate understands how to turn clean, prepared datasets into intuitive, actionable insights for business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Dashboarding & Visualization

• Develop high-quality, interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI / Tableau / Looker.
• Transform clean, curated datasets into user-friendly visualizations and self-service analytics.
• Optimize reports for performance, usability, and clarity, including DAX/MDX calculations (if Power BI).
• Implement visualization best practices for KPIs, trends, drill-downs, slicers, and navigation flows.

Front-End Data Modeling & Logic

• Create semantic models, relationships, hierarchies, KPIs, and calculated fields within the BI tool.
• Apply strong understanding of star-schema reporting, calendar tables, metrics, and data modeling inside the BI layer.
• Collaborate with the Data Engineer to communicate any data structure needs.

Business Requirements & UX Design

• Work directly with business users to gather requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
• Build mockups / wireframes for dashboards before development.
• Ensure dashboards are intuitive, visually appealing, and aligned with business workflows.

Quality Assurance & Documentation

• Perform thorough QA on dashboards to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Document data definitions, dashboard logic, and user guides.
• Support user training, onboarding, and adoption of BI reports.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Finance or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience as a BI Developer, Data Analyst, or similar role.
• Proficiency in Power BI.
• Strong understanding of visualization best practices and analytical storytelling.
• Experience with data modeling concepts (facts, dimensions, star schema).
• Strong DAX / calculated fields experience.
• Ability to work with business teams to define KPIs and reporting requirements.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
