The Bid Management Expert is responsible for leading the end-to-end bid management process for strategic and high-value opportunities. This role plays a critical part in shaping win strategies, ensuring alignment across pricing, risk, and compliance, and orchestrating cross-functional teams to deliver compelling, competitive, and compliant proposals. The position requires a strong blend of commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and execution excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full bid lifecycle for strategic opportunities, from qualification through submission and post-bid analysis
- Define and drive winning strategies, including value proposition, competitive positioning, and differentiators
- Collaborate with sales, solution, finance, legal, and delivery teams to ensure alignment on bid approach and execution
- Ensure all bids are commercially viable, competitively priced, and aligned with organizational financial objectives
- Oversee pricing strategies, cost structures, and financial modeling in collaboration with finance teams
- Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with internal policies, governance frameworks, and client requirements
- Develop high-quality, compelling proposals, ensuring consistency in messaging, structure, and branding
- Establish and manage bid plans, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring on-time and high-quality submissions
- Drive governance processes, including bid reviews, approvals, and sign-offs at various stages
- Analyze competitor positioning and market trends to strengthen bid strategies
- Capture lessons learned and continuously improve bid management processes and tools
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or a related field
- Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus
Experience:
- 8-12 years of experience in bid management, proposal management, or commercial roles
- Proven track record of leading complex, high-value bids in competitive environments
- Experience working in industries such as technology, consulting, system integration, or large-scale services is preferred
- Strong exposure to pricing strategies, contract structuring, and commercial negotiations
- Familiarity with bid management tools and CRM Systems
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
- Understanding of procurement processes, RFP/RFQ/RFI cycles
