SERAC provides high-quality, evidence-based information, advocacy, and consulting services to families of individuals with special needs. We collaborate with financial management service (FMS) companies, regional centers and community businesses that serve individuals with developmental disabilities across California.
As a Bilingual Administrative Assistant at SERAC, you will work closely with Dr. Lee, a special education consultant and former autism researcher. Dr. Lee has extensive experience mentoring professionals and students in the field, providing a unique opportunity for growth and learning.
Position Overview
We are currently seeking a highly organized and professional Bilingual Administrative Assistant (Korean-English) to support day-to-day operations and client coordination.
This role requires professional-level fluency in both written and spoken Korean and English. The position involves regular communication with external agencies, accurate documentation, and consistent follow-up on behalf of our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpretation and Translation: Provide professional Korean-English and English-Korean interpretation during meetings, translate emails, documents and media materials
- Client Communication: Regularly communicate with FMS companies, regional centers and community businesses to ensure our clients' needs are met
- Documentation: Document client requests and needs, report to the supervisor, and follow up with clients as necessary
- Record Keeping: Maintain organized records of contacts, project statuses and payments
- General Administrative Support: Assist with various tasks as needed to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications:
- Written and spoken fluency (professional level) in both English and Korean
- Strong communication and phone skills
- Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Persistence and proactiveness in following up with contacts
- Ability to protect and manage client data with care
- Professionalism and maturity in all interactions
- High school diploma or equivalent
