Our growing Personal Injury law firm is seeking an experienced Case Manager / Demand Writer to manage cases from intake through pre-litigation resolution. This role requires strong organizational skills, client communication abilities, and proven experience preparing comprehensive settlement demands.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable handling a full pre-litigation caseload while drafting persuasive demand packages for insurance carriers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a full personal injury caseload from retention through settlement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring regular updates and support
- Coordinate medical treatment, referrals, and follow-ups with providers
- Request, review, organize, and summarize medical records and bills
- Monitor treatment progress and ensure case readiness for demand
- Communicate with insurance adjusters regarding claims, coverage, and liability
- Track deadlines, liens, costs, and case milestones
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files in the case management system
- Draft detailed and persuasive personal injury settlement demands
- Understand and correctly apply the differences between third-party and uninsured/underinsured motorist (UM/UIM) coverage in the context of personal injury cases.
- Analyze liability, damages, medical treatment, and injury impact
- Prepare medical summaries and treatment timelines
- Incorporate specials, general damages, and future care where applicable
- Submit demands to insurance carriers and manage follow-up negotiations
- Collaborate with settlement negotiator to gather all necessary documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA and company policy.
Qualifications:
- Must be fluent in SPANISH
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in personal injury case management
- Proven experience writing personal injury settlement demands
- Strong understanding of California personal injury law and pre-litigation procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Proficient with case management software
- Comfortable communicating with clients, providers, and insurance adjusters
