Bilingual (English/Spanish) Human Resources Manager

Role: Morgan Foods, Inc. (MFI) is seeking a Bilingual (English/Spanish) Human Resources Manager (HRM) to support our Austin, IN facility.

This full-time, onsite position is part of a larger HR team supporting a dynamic 3-shift manufacturing operation. The HR Manager reports directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), providing strong visibility, mentorship, and exposure to senior leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional HR support to the Austin, IN facility
  • Collaborate with the Michigan HR Manager, Manager of Benefits, and the broader HR team to deliver “best in class” HR support across the employee lifecycle
  • Serve as point of contact for employee relations matters
  • Manage site recruiting, onboarding, and separation processes, ensuring compliance with all federal and state labor laws
  • Oversee internship and student cooperative programs
  • Maintain job descriptions and organizational structure
  • Ensure all HR records are complete, compliant, and secure
  • Prepare internal and external reports for regulatory and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with all employment laws through policy development, audits, and consultation with legal counsel
  • Maintain strong labor relations with union workforce and local union representatives
  • Work within HR team framework in the administration of the CBA; including daily interpretation and administration, grievance process participation, and contract negotiation participation
  • Meet HR KPIs and contribute to departmental projects and initiatives
  • Partner with CHRO to administer compensation programs and support Total Rewards strategy
  • Support benefits communication and administration in partnership with the Manager of Benefits
  • Collaborate on training, development and workforce planning
  • Represent the organization at community and industry partnerships
  • As part of the HR team, work collaboratively to drive excellence within all HR processes, systems, and experiences
  • Carries out all activities utilizing a continuous improvement approach and participates in all continuous improvement initiatives, including acquiring certifications in Lean Six Sigma as needed or required

Physical Requirements: The Bilingual Human Resources Manager role will have a heavy presence on the manufacturing floor. Frequently walk, stand, climb, twist, reach, bend, use hands/fingers/wrists to computer keyboard. Ability to lift 20 lbs.

Environmental Requirements: Ability to work in the following environments: Office- climate controlled; Manufacturing Plant - not climate controlled with variable temperatures

Communication Requirements: Fluency - Bilingual English/Spanish spoken and written. Ability to read, understand, write, and follow work instructions, policies, safety rules, and quality standards. The role must exhibit strong verbal and written communication capabilities with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.

Scheduling & Availability: The primary schedule for the role is Mon-Fri, 8-5pm. Flexibility is required to support the 2nd and 3rd shifts and occasionally weekends

Education/Training/Skills/Experience/Personal Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, labor relations, or equivalent educational focus. Substitutions in educational requirement will be evaluated in combination with work experience.
  • Minimum 6 years progressive HR generalist experience, or 2-3 years HR Manager experience with at least 4 years strong HR generalist experience in manufacturing. This role is designed to provide a next level opportunity for tenured HR Generalist and/or early career HR Manager with strong HR generalist experience.
  • SPHR or PHR certification required or obtained within 18 months
  • Strong knowledge of labor relations, IN employment law, and HR best practices
  • Manufacturing HR experience required; union experience preferred
  • Strong recruiting and onboarding experience required
  • Training and development experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • ADP Workforce Now and Workforce Manager experience required
  • Excellent analytical skills, with strong ability to analyze and interpret HR data and statistics
  • Highly organization with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Person-centered, highly collaborative work style required
