Job Summary:
We are seeking a part-time Human Resources Generalist to support our location in Glendale Heights, IL. The HR Generalist is responsible for overseeing daily HR functions and will also help tracking payroll hours for temps and full-time employees.
Duties:
- Administer HR policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain employment records, employee files and organizational data in HRIS and other systems as required.
- Process weekly payroll, perform payroll changes and ensure paperwork is completed. Assist with payroll questions/issues.
- Conduct recruiting and onboarding activities to support staffing needs.
- Administer leaves of absence, including FMLA, Military, STD, and workers’ compensation.
- Administer benefits programs and related activities; serve as primary contact with providers and employees and assist with open enrollment.
- Serve as primary contact for employee relations issues, policy & procedure questions and benefits.
- Provide support for projects and audits.
- Track attendance, disciplinary actions, and other related items.
- Assist with employee training and review process as needed
- Address employee relations issues by utilizing conflict management skills to resolve disputes and foster a positive work environment.
- Conduct exit interviews and ensure that necessary employment termination paperwork is completed.
- Replenish the PPE (personal protective equipment) closet.
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years HR Generalist experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems, particularly APD, for managing employee data efficiently and processing weekly payroll.
- Experience with benefits and leave administration.
- Recruiting and onboarding experience.
- Working knowledge of labor laws and other federal, state and local regulations.
- Experience with various software, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, Netsuite (or similar ERP program preferred).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience in conflict management to effectively address employee concerns and disputes.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with employees at all levels. Bilingual English Spanish required.
