Bilingual Legal Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bilingual Legal Assistant to join our vibrant legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support a diverse range of legal practice areas. As a key member of our firm, you will leverage your bilingual skills to facilitate effective communication with clients while managing complex legal documentation and case files. Your proactive approach and organizational prowess will contribute significantly to delivering exceptional legal support and ensuring smooth office operations.

Duties

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Legal Affairs Liaison in multiple practice areas, including document drafting, proofreading, transcription, and filing.
  • Conduct legal research to assist in case preparation and strategy development.
  • Manage legal case files and document management systems with precision, ensuring all records are organized and easily accessible.
  • Assist with client interviews and communications in both English and Spanish to gather relevant information efficiently.
  • Support litigation processes through document review, data entry, and preparation of contracts and pleadings.
  • Coordinate scheduling for meetings, and depositions while maintaining meticulous calendars.
  • Handle clerical tasks such as phone etiquette, data entry, filing, and general administrative duties to keep the office running smoothly.

Qualifications

  • Proven paralegal or legal administrative experience in a law office setting with familiarity in multiple practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, landlord-tenant law, UCC law or litigation.
  • Strong bilingual skills English & Spanish with excellent verbal and written communication abilities in both languages.
  • Proficiency in legal research platforms including Westlaw and LexisNexis; experience with PCLaw or other case management software is a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of legal case management systems for efficient workflow.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent proofreading, writing skills, and attention to detail for drafting legal documents accurately.
  • Experience with project management tools and supporting multiple attorneys simultaneously is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with professional phone etiquette and the ability to handle confidential information discreetly. Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
