The Human Resources Manager serves as a key partner to leadership and employees, providing day-to-day support in employee relations, performance management, policy administration, and compliance. This role ensures consistent application of HR practices, promotes employee engagement, and supports recruitment, onboarding, training, and payroll functions. The HR Manager may also assist with grievance resolution, workers’ compensation, and union matters, while maintaining HRIS accuracy and supporting multiple sites both remotely and in person.
Responsibilities:
- Provides day-to-day employee relations and performance counseling.
- Assures fair and consistent administration of all human resources policies and practices.
- Resolves any employee concerns or issues within the location(s) they support.
- Ensures strong communication of all employee programs in an effort to increase employee engagement and morale.
- Implements programs related to human resources and employee relations
- Partners with management in communicating various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards, and governmental regulations.
- Helps Frontline Leaders administer payroll processing, time and attendance recording, paid time off benefits, and processing company compensation and benefits programs.
- Delivers and administers training programs
- Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment or any other HR-related policies and procedures.
- Conducts new hire orientation and any other necessary onboarding activities.
- Maintains accurate records within the HRIS system and prepares any necessary reports.
- In conjunction with the Recruiting team, performs recruitment activities which include posting open positions, reviewing resumes, screening applicants as well as setting up/coordinating any interviews with hiring manager as needed.
- May be involved in investigating employee-related issues and/or concerns.
- In partnership with the Operations/EHS team may be involved with Workers' Compensation Investigation process and administration.
- Ability to support multiple sites in the USA, both in person and remotely.
- If the site is unionized, ability to administer rules of the CBA. Would also sit in on negotiations and would handle any grievance investigations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required
- 3+ years HR Generalist experience, preferably in a manufacturing or similar environment.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required
- Demonstrated ability to model leadership behaviors on a continual basis, partnering with business leaders in a dynamic business setting.
- Knowledge of Federal/State laws as they pertain to human resources administration.
- Strong conflict resolution skills
- Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills
- Good organizational, planning and follow up skills
- Ability to travel as needed
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 35lbs occasionally.
- Ability to wear all required PPE when on the shop floor: for example, hearing protection, steel-toe shoes/boots, gloves, etc.
- When on the floor, the ability to be in a non-climate-controlled environment where temperatures can be 90+ degrees.
- When on the floor, the ability to be in an environment with various smells.
The shop floor environment can be noisy.
The salary range is $95,000 - 115,000 per year. Exact salary offered will depend on candidate’s experience, work location, skills, etc.
