Position: Bilingual Oral Surgery Assistant

At West Valley Oral Surgery, we are looking for a Full-Time Oral Surgery Assistant to join our team. Whether you're fresh out of dental school or have no experience, we are committed to providing training and support to help you excel. Spanish speaking is preferred but not required.

Your Role:
As an Oral Surgery Assistant, you'll be essential in delivering exceptional patient care. We are requiring this position to be Bi-lingual, fluent in English and Spanish. Daily Responsibilities:

• Surgical Support: Assist the oral surgeon during procedures by passing instruments, maintaining a sterile field, and anticipating needs.
• Consultation Support: Help with patient histories, recover sedated patients, and assist the surgeon in explaining treatment plans.
• Assist with Prosthetics: Prepare and pass instruments for prosthetic placements, ensure secure placement, and help with adjustments.
• Prepare Operatories/Room Setup: Ensure all necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies are ready and the room is clean and sterilized.
• Take Pano/CT Scans: Operate and maintain panoramic and cone-beam CT scanning equipment.
• Sterilize and Clean Instruments: Clean, sterilize, and safely store all surgical instruments and materials.
• Pre-operative and Post-operative Care: Explain instructions for fasting, medication, transportation, wound care, pain management, and dietary restrictions.
• Maintain Patient Confidentiality: Adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines for patient information.
• Inventory Management: Track supplies and equipment usage, and assist in ordering necessary items.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certification or experience as a surgical assistant preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Spanish speaking (preferred)

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday

Experience:

• Dental Assisting: 1 year (preferred)

License/Certifications:

• Certified Dental Assistant (preferred)
• X-Ray Certification (preferred)
• Basic Life Support (preferred)
