Bilingual ROTA Nanny in McLean, VA

Warm, involved parents in McLean, VA are seeking an experienced and energetic bilingual rotational nanny to join our fully staffed household and care for our artsy 6-year old bilingual daughter. She attends school full-time. This role is live-in on days on and live-out on days off. It is a week-on, week-off ROTA schedule.

We are will prioritize local candidates but open to receiving resumes from non-local candidates

You’ll be a key part of a collaborative team that includes other nannies, chefs, housekeepers, a house manager, and assistants, and will be supported in creating a loving, enriching environment for our children.

What You’ll Be Doing

~Planning and engaging in fun activities that support her development—think art projects galore, imaginative play, setting up scavenger hunts, obstacle courses, building forts, etc.
~ Accompanying her to local classes, parks, museums, birthday parties and playdates
~ Preparing, nutritious and creative snacks for her on a daily basis
~ Handling child-related tidying: her dishes, laundry, toys, and room
~ Managing and supporting bathtime, morning and bedtime routines, meals and transitions
~ Traveling with the family (Miami Beach, the Bahamas, school breaks, and other destinations). Travel schedules and tasks will vary - packing, preparing meals, etc.
~ Working collaboratively with other nannies and stepping in or stepping back as needed—flexibility and a team spirit are key
~ Errands & projects. While she is in school you will assist the household with errands and projects. Think returns, shipping, party prep, etc. There is absolutely still time for you to have breaks, use our gym, go for a walk, etc.
~ You will also watch our happy & curious two and a half year old toddler son for two to three hours, once or twice a week when he doesn’t have school to give his nanny a break. He has his own ROTA nanny team.

What We’re Looking For

~ Experienced: 5-7+ years of childcare experience minimum
~ Professional: Teaching, Art, Early Childhood Education or Montessori background required. You'll come up with fun activities and projects each day she isn’t in school
~ Bilingual: Fluent in both Spanish and English. Our kids are bilingual and you will speak Spanish with them and help expand their vocabularies. Clear communication with parents is essential though. I speak some Spanish and my husband can pronounce guacamole, tortilla and hola properly but that is about it ;)
~ Creative: Sitting & doing art projects for hours is appealing
~ Organized & Proactive: You plan ahead, anticipate needs, and take initiative
~ Warm & Positive: Children and adults alike feel your upbeat, team-oriented presence but you also know how to hold boundaries in a manner that is respectful to the child as well as colleagues. You can handle honest conversations and feedback.
~ Energetic: You can keep up with energetic kids for a full week-long shift
~ Magic: You are able to get kids to do what you want without them realizing they are being managed
~ Gentle in Approach: You embrace a child-centered, respectful parenting style with healthy boundaries and thoughtful communication.
Planes, Cars & Water: You are a safe driver, aren’t afraid of flying and can swim

Schedule & Logistics

~ Rotational Schedule: live-in while on duty and live-out while off
~ Full charge during shift: including overnights (sleep with monitor), with flexibility when parents are hands-on
~ Travel required: during family trips (all expenses covered). International & domestic
~ This is a W-2 role: with a competitive salary and excellent benefits
~ No moonlighting: We value rest and want our team to recharge between shifts
~ Background check: We complete a background and driving record check
