ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the EMS Operations and staff to identify and implement new technologies.
  • Work to achieve organizational and departmental goals.
  • Research new products to enhance operations and improve cost efficiency.
  • Oversee daily operations of all quality improvement reporting.
  • Provide leadership and direction to supervisory team and staff.
  • Prepare reports and proposals for Emergency Medical Services.
  • Design, implement and maintain processes to maximize quality of operations.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Provide direction, clarity of expectations and coaching to supervision.
  • Manage associate performance by setting and communicating standards, measuring results and providing feedback. Act as a resource to associates in resolving problems and increasing effectiveness.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with CMS and other applicable local, state, and federal laws governing business and associate relations.
  • Actively develop, train and promote the use of work teams for process improvement.
  • Ensure effective risk management (e.g., workers' compensation, safety) through proactive education and training programs.
  • Light travel to assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Demonstrate that internal customers are as valuable as external customers; project appreciation and respect for all team members.
  • Responsible for compliance with and enforcement of company/department policies and procedures.
  • Communicates with parties within and outside of own job area. Typically has responsibility for communicating with parties external to the organization (e.g., customers, vendors, etc.).
  • Works to influence parties within and outside of the job function at an operational level regarding policies, procedures and practices.
  • Promotes the image and reputation of the System by exhibiting servant leadership and providing direct and open lines of communication.
  • Contributes to the work of committees, workgroups, project management, and other collaborative efforts of the System.
  • Performs other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the System.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Talking: expressing and exchanging information and ideas by means of spoken word. This is important for those activities in which workers must impart oral info to patients and/or to general public and in those activities in which they must convey detailed and important spoken instructions to other workers accurately and quickly.
  • Color vision: ability to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Spend time bending, twisting the body, kneeling, crouching, stooping, crawling, repetitive motions and using your hands to handle, control, and feel objects, tools or controls.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and nine (9) years of prior relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • CAC certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years as a licensed driver with a clear MVR.
  • Demonstrate ability to work well with people, both internally and externally.
  • Requires deep knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. Typically viewed as having a specialty within discipline. May have broad knowledge of project management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to other associates.
  • Responsible for managing large processes.
  • No direct supervision of associates is assigned to this position.
  • Responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to other Associates within department. Typically responsible for managing major/complex projects at this level, involving delegation of work and review of work products.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram format. The ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
