Key Responsibilities:
- Receive payments: Cashiers manage all types of payments including cash, credit/debit cards, digital wallets, and checks.
- Accurate billing: They ensure that the billing process is accurate, reflecting the correct prices, discounts, taxes, and charges.
- Provide receipts: They issue receipts for every transaction and ensure they are accurate for both the customer and accounting records.
- Assist customers: Cashiers help with inquiries about product pricing, payment options, and other purchase-related questions.
- Resolve issues: Address and resolve customer concerns or refer them to the appropriate person if needed.
- Engage in upselling: Where possible, they may suggest additional products or services to the customer.
- Balance the register: At the end of the day or shift, they balance the register by comparing the total payments received with the sales data.
- Stock adjustments: Occasionally, cashiers may update the system for inventory sold and returned items, reflecting real-time stock levels.
- Cross-check stock and sales: Work with the showroom staff to ensure the stock matches the sales for accurate inventory records.
- Support accounting and management: Provide daily transaction reports, reconciliations, and any discrepancies in sales data.
