Billing Manager

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Billing Manager to join our growing team! This person will oversee the daily operations of our billing department, leading a team of three Billing Assistants and working closely with our Billing Director to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant billing across all of our clinics.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise three Billing Assistants — assigning daily tasks, reviewing work, and providing training and feedback.
• Manage the full revenue cycle process including claims submission, payment posting, and denial management.
• Ensure all billing timelines and payer requirements are met consistently and accurately.
• Review and approve complex or high-value claims before submission.
• Monitor key metrics such as AR aging, collection rates, and denial trends.
• Collaborate with the Billing Director to refine billing procedures, improve workflows, and strengthen internal controls.
• Partner with clinical, intake, and administrative teams to resolve issues and maintain clear communication.
• Stay current on payer updates, state/federal regulations, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of medical billing experience (preferably in behavioral health, therapy, or similar healthcare setting).
• At least 1 year of supervisory or team lead experience.
• Strong understanding of insurance billing, CPT codes, and payer processes.
• Proficiency with billing or EHR systems (RethinkBH or Availity experience a plus).
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.

Preferred:

• Experience in ABA, OT, or Speech Therapy billing.
• Familiarity with multi-location or centralized billing environments.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Healthcare Administration.
