Essential Fuctions :
1. Assists and supports Business Manager for Heart and Vascular Institute, and Compliance Officer by monitoring QA activities for billing and assist in CDM and Cost Flex maintenance.
2. Participates in departmental and organizational-wide quality improvement activities. Communicates policies, procedures, errors and issues with PFS Training, Registration, Pre-Access, Scheduling within the Heart and Vascular Institute.
3. Evaluates effectiveness of documentation and provides feedback to staff not meeting standards related to documentation and provides report to management for claims and charges that are unbilled, coded and/or paid, written off, recovered, etc.
4. Performs charge entry, audits the billing process, makes corrections where indicated prior to patient’s first billing and completes timely audits to determine if registration and reception processes are in compliance with coding, charging policies and regulations.
5. Participates in reviewing denials, writing appeals, monitoring reimbursement and communicating with the Denials Management Department.
6. Responsibilities are to include all campuses where the Heart and Vascular Institute provide services.
