Billing/Charge Analyst - Cardiovascular

Full-Time / 40 Hours / Days (flexible on start time - between 6:30am - 8am)

Summary:
Optimizes revenue from patient charges related to technical component of procedures. Performs scheduling, charge entry, billing audits, reviews processes and staff education.

Minimum Qualifications:
Formal Education Required:
  • High school graduate
  • Associate’s Degree in Business or Accounting preferred.

Experience & Training Required:
  • Two (2) years experience of medical billing, coding, or denials management, hospital setting preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of billing process
  • Knowledge of revenue cycle
  • General knowledge of CPT and ICD9CM codes
  • Knowledge of medical terminology


Essential Fuctions :

1. Assists and supports Business Manager for Heart and Vascular Institute, and Compliance Officer by monitoring QA activities for billing and assist in CDM and Cost Flex maintenance.

2. Participates in departmental and organizational-wide quality improvement activities. Communicates policies, procedures, errors and issues with PFS Training, Registration, Pre-Access, Scheduling within the Heart and Vascular Institute.

3. Evaluates effectiveness of documentation and provides feedback to staff not meeting standards related to documentation and provides report to management for claims and charges that are unbilled, coded and/or paid, written off, recovered, etc.

4. Performs charge entry, audits the billing process, makes corrections where indicated prior to patient’s first billing and completes timely audits to determine if registration and reception processes are in compliance with coding, charging policies and regulations.

5. Participates in reviewing denials, writing appeals, monitoring reimbursement and communicating with the Denials Management Department.

6. Responsibilities are to include all campuses where the Heart and Vascular Institute provide services.

Level of Physical Demands:
Sedentary: Exerts up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
