Job Title: BIM Coordinator

Reports to: BIM Manager

Job Description Summary

The BIM Coordinator assists the BIM Manager as a project team member, interacting with project owners, architects, engineers, contractors and subcontractors to develop and analyze the virtual construction process in order to maximize construction efficiency, and job cost savings, as well as enhance project documentation & delivery.

General Responsibilities

  • Able to perform all BIM Engineer responsibilities
  • Assist BIM Manager in preparing BIM Guidelines for project-specific requirements
  • Assist BIM Manager with planning and scheduling
  • Create and Maintain BIM Models for Project-Specific Requirements
  • Develop schematic and detailed level models including modeling structure, interior and exterior architectural elements and MEP systems (as applicable)
  • Coordinate with BIM service providers and Subcontractors
  • Create new library components
  • Responsible as “Model Administrator” for assigned projects
  • Update as‐built and revised Building Information Model
  • Keep BIM revision log
  • Distribute new and revised models showing changes and RFI answers
  • Derive material quantities.
  • Produce quantity reports per Client requirements.
  • Develop the modeling schedule
  • Prepare 4D simulations
  • Identify long lead items and integrate them into 4D simulations
  • Define scopes of work, evaluate site problems and issue RFIs.
  • Update and distribute documents and models to subcontractors and maintain control logs (as applicable).
  • Prepare and maintain submittal logs and expediting log for BIM models.
  • Attend and /or manage model coordination meetings and document project preconstruction / BIM meetings (write minutes).
  • Coordinate models with internal and subcontractor detailers and modelers Record coordination sign offs.
  • Process shop drawing level models for approval.
  • Assist project team with construction coordination and scheduling.
  • Identify model constructability issues and propose solutions.
  • Ability to work both independently as well as part of a team.

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years project experience, with duties as a lead coordinator –Engineer, or equivalent.
  • Autodesk Certified Professional.
  • Must be able to demonstrate an intermediate to advanced level of knowledge and understanding of construction methods, processes, and systems.
  • Good years of experience in both Revit & Civil3D especially for infrastructure projects & landscape projects.
  • Must be able to demonstrate advanced working knowledge and experience with the following software applications as well as typically used terminology, standards, and practices Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Civil 3D, Navisworks, TEKLA, Microstation, etc.
  • Experience in 4D & 5D simulations using Synchro Pro is an added advantage
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal English language communication skills.
  • Ability to use judgment, problem‐solving ability, self‐starting and ability to prioritize based on relevant factors.

  • Abu Dhabi: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • BIM Coordination: 5 years (Required)
  • Civil 3D: 4 years (Required)

License/Certification:

  • Revit (Preferred)
