BIM Modeler – MEP (Design Consultancy Experience)
Job Summary
The BIM Modeler – MEP supports MEP design teams by developing, coordinating, and managing detailed BIM models for building projects. The role focuses on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within a design consultancy environment, ensuring high-quality models, coordination across disciplines, and compliance with BIM standards throughout all project stages.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain BIM models for MEP systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and ELV systems

Translate MEP design concepts and calculations into accurate BIM models and coordinated drawings

Coordinate MEP models with architectural, structural, and other engineering disciplines

Perform clash detection and resolve design conflicts using BIM coordination tools

Prepare construction drawings, layouts, sections, schedules, and quantities from BIM models

Ensure models comply with project BIM Execution Plans (BEP), standards, and LOD requirements

Support design development, authority submissions, and construction documentation stages

Incorporate design changes and maintain model accuracy throughout the project lifecycle

Participate in coordination meetings and technical reviews

Maintain organized model structures, naming conventions, and shared parameters
Required Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or related field)

3–7 years of BIM modeling experience in MEP design consultancy environments

Strong proficiency in BIM software such as Revit MEP and Navisworks

Solid understanding of MEP design principles, codes, and standards

Experience working on multidisciplinary building projects

Ability to interpret MEP design drawings, specifications, and calculations
Preferred Skills

Experience with large-scale commercial, residential, healthcare, or mixed-use projects

Familiarity with international codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, BS, etc.)

Knowledge of BIM coordination workflows, clash resolution, and model audits

Experience with Dynamo, automation, or BIM collaboration platforms (BIM 360 / ACC)

Strong communication, coordination, and time-management skills
