Biologist 1 (Regulatory & Economic Resources)

The Biologist 1 position is an introductory professional position within the Wetlands Resources Section. Incumbents in this position are responsible for reviewing and processing applications for projects in freshwater wetlands, verifying compliance with Section 24-48 of the Miami-Dade County Code, preparing reports, drafting permit language and permit conditions, assisting in plan reviews, and communicating with the public about the status of permit applications. Additionally, the Biologist 1 also participates in agency and interagency meetings and coordinates with other local, state, and federal environmental agencies and organizations.
