Performs initial inspection, applies inventory procedures and identity marking for all new equipment prior to use.
Provides technical assistance, training and instruction to staff in the maintenance, operation and use of equipment.
Ensures preventive maintenance of all equipment is completed as scheduled
Maintains and updates inventory of all biomedical equipments and collects monitoring data for the equipment Management Program.
Responds to requests for maintenance and repair for all biomedical equipments.
Provides technical advice to ensure compliance with Electrical and other safety standards.
Maintains record of all maintenance, inspections and repairs for all biomedical equipment.
Collaborates with Facility Management and Safety Teams to conduct safety and risk assessment, and develops measures to counter them.
Develops and coordinates departmental quality initiatives.
Adheres to NMC Royal Women’s Hospital patient and staff safety rules.
Responsible for ensuring all routine checklists are completed on time.
Demonstrates ability to perform under pressure.
Participates in/initiates quality Improvements within the Department to continuously improve education or services.
Attend seminars,workshops,inservices and vendor supplied training.
Adheres to OSHMS standards regarding employee health and safety.
Performs other duties as required within scope of training and abilities.
Reads test schedule, work orders, test manuals, performance specification, wiring diagrams and schematics to determine testing procedures and equipment to be used.
Tests functional performance of system and sub-systems and parts.
Carries out operation and maintenance of all Medical gas plant & Equipment’s on regular basis as per the PPM schedule.
Daily monitoring the MGPS system.
Maintaining the log book of the plant and other equipment’s.
Ensures that all controls and alarms are fully functional, correctly set and that these settings are recorded.
Carries out checks and planned maintenance to ensure that plant continues to run in optimum condition.
Ensures that there is an adequate supply of Medical Gases available to meet the demands of the hospital.
Regular preventive rounds on the floors, PPM of the equipment’s and plants.
Maintain the inventory of all the supplies, cylinders, regulators, Flow meter, and vacuum jars etc. and update the same on regular intervals.
To resolve and rectify the complaints related to the Medical gas lines, Alarms, and regulators, flow meters.
Compares results with specifications and records test data.
Replaces or repairs defective system components.
Maintains complete record of all system maintenance and provides reports as required.
Actively participates in department quality/performance improvement activities and demonstrates appropriate policies and procedures.
To follow the instructions given by the supervisor. To follow all the safety measures while working on the systems.
