Designation: Biovia ELN Developer/Lead - (SDK / .NET / Python)

Qualification: Bachelor or master degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related Engineering discipline.

Experience: Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in designing, developing and customizing Biovia ELN solutions using ELN SDK, with strong expertise in .NET (C#) full stack development, Python/IronPython scripting, and REST/SOAP API integrations within any (biopharma / biotechnology / life sciences) environments.

Work Timing: US (PST) Hours (Work schedule can be split into 4 hours PM (IST) and 4 hours AM (PST) working hours once KT (Knowledge Transfer) days are completed for new Joiners - depending on daylight saving)

Job Role: The Biovia ELN Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and customizing electronic lab notebook (ELN) solutions using the Biovia ELN SDK, ensuring seamless integration with laboratory systems and enterprise applications. The role involves leveraging .NET (C#) and Python / IronPython to enhance ELN functionality, automate workflows, and implement robust solutions that meet the needs of biopharma and life sciences research environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, configure, and enhance Biovia ELN solutions using Biovia SDK and related APIs.
  • Implement custom modules, plug-ins, and templates for scientific data capture and reporting.
  • Integrate Biovia ELN with LIMS, SDMS, LES, and other enterprise applications via REST / SOAP APIs.
  • Design and develop backend and frontend components using C# / .NET Framework.
  • Create automation scripts using Python or IronPython for workflow optimization and data processing.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and scientists to translate functional requirements into technical solutions.
  • Perform unit testing, validation, and documentation in accordance with GxP and regulatory standards.
  • Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and deploy fixes or enhancements as required.
  • Work closely with US-based teams, ensuring adherence to project timelines and communication protocols.

Required Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience in Biovia ELN SDK customization and development.
  • Proficiency in .NET (C#) with solid full stack development exposure (backend and frontend).
  • Proficient in Python or IronPython scripting for automation and custom functionality.
  • Proven experience integrating systems using REST and SOAP APIs.
  • Understanding of GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and validation principles in life sciences applications.
  • Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a remote, cross-functional team environment.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Biovia Pipeline Pilot, Biovia Workbook, or NuGenesis SDMS.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure / AWS) for application hosting or integration.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript / TypeScript / React for ELN front-end extensions.
  • Understanding of scientific workflows, lab data standards, or experiment metadata management.
