Apply today to join the City of Dublin’s Operations Team as a Birthday Party Host to facilitate the successful operation of the birthday parties offered at the Dublin Community Recreation Center (DCRC) and Dublin Community Outdoor Pools.


Scheduling/Availability
  • Currently seeking candidates that are regularly available to work weekends (11am-8pm)
  • Birthday parties are offered year-round at the Dublin Community Recreation Center (DCRC) and during the summer months at the Dublin Community Outdoor Pools (North & South). Ideal candidates would be available to work at both the indoor and outdoor locations, depending on the season.

Examples of Duties

Birthday Party Host duties include, but are not limited to:

Working with Members, Residents and Guests
1. Serve as the liaison between the birthday party guests and the City of Dublin.

  • Communicates and help with the party during their on-site event.
  • Problem solves possible on-site issues.
  • Room set up and clean up.
  • Monitor the renters’ adherence to City policies.
2. Ensure the security of equipment and supplies, including maintaining inventory and timely planning for replacement of supplies.
  • Assist in the management and care of the physical facilities and equipment in assigned classroom location.
  • Conduct a daily check of the area and equipment for safety, cleanliness and good repair.
  • Clean program area, keeping it free of hazards and debris.
3. Interact with children and parents in a fair and positive manner.
  • Stay alert to parties’ needs and assist them with needs.
  • Work cooperatively with other staff members, supervisors and Managers on Duty to create a safe and enjoyable experience that keep children involved and having fun.

2. Participate in and assist with room set-ups.

Typical Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Must be regularly available to work weekends (11am-8pm)
  • Possession of a current American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Willing to work under direct supervision
  • Ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in customer service
Physical Requirements
  • Potential to lift up to 25 lbs.

  • Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with people from different backgrounds

Supplemental Information: All positions within this job classification have been designated as Casual in nature and all employees serving in such positions are considered to be Casual Employees. Casual Employees serve strictly at the pleasure of the City and employment may be terminated at any time for any reason, with or without cause.
