Position Overview
We are seeking a versatile and technically skilled Blackmagic Camera Operator / DIT to support our production team across both shooting and post-production workflows. This role combines on-set camera operation with digital imaging and media management responsibilities. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, has hands-on experience with Blackmagic Design camera systems, and possesses a strong understanding of color, data workflow, and file integrity.
Key ResponsibilitiesCamera Operation
- Operate Blackmagic Design cameras (URSA Mini Pro, Pocket Cinema Camera, Studio Camera, etc.) during shoots, ensuring precise framing, focus, and exposure.
- Collaborate with the Director of Photography (DP) and Lighting Department to achieve consistent visual style and image quality.
- Configure and maintain camera settings, lenses, and rigs for each production scenario.
- Manage camera media, frame rates, codecs, and color profiles (Blackmagic RAW, ProRes, log workflows).
- Support multi-camera setups and live production when required.
Digital Imaging & Workflow
- Act as DIT on set—managing color consistency, exposure monitoring, and data integrity.
- Perform on-set data wrangling: offload, verify, and organize media from multiple cameras.
- Create and maintain backup copies following established data security protocols.
- Ingest footage into DaVinci Resolve (or designated software) for sync, LUT application, and basic color balance.
- Generate dailies and proxy files for editorial teams as needed.
- Maintain a detailed log of footage and file structure for efficient handoff to post-production.
- Troubleshoot and maintain DIT carts, monitors, and calibration tools.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a camera operator or DIT, preferably using Blackmagic Design systems.
- Strong technical knowledge of digital cinema workflows, color spaces, and codecs.
- Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve for LUT management, transcoding, and media organization.
- Understanding of exposure, white balance, color science, and on-set monitoring tools (waveform, vectorscope).
- Excellent data management and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple media sources on set.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with ATEM live switchers or live-stream workflows.
- Experience with gimbals, drones, or multi-camera environments.
- Knowledge of network-based media transfers or NAS workflows.
- Understanding of post-production processes, metadata handling, and file delivery standards.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Film Production, Media, or a related field (preferred).
- 2–3 years of experience in camera operation or DIT roles.
- Demonstrated experience with Blackmagic cameras and DaVinci Resolve required.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
