Videographer

San Diego based, full time, fully insured photographer and videographer, Fotility Photography & Videography is looking for a few good, reliable, part time videographers to join our team! Due to the nature of our business, these paid contract videographer positions will be guaranteed 1-2 projects per month to start (this is the guaranteed number of assignments, however additional assignments may be assigned depending on the qualified candidates abilities), and increasing to 4-6 assignments (or more) per month over six months as we become more comfortable with the qualified candidates reliability and skill sets.

We shoot a very broad range of styles, including, but not limited to: business/commercial shoots, children portraits, composites/headshots, engagements, personal/corporate events, family portraits, graduations, maternity, product shoots, promo shoots, real estate, food and weddings. Our professional team includes a wide range of videographers, photographers, drone pilots and multiple assistants. Our entire team consists of paid sub-contractors, we do NOT have any employees and we do NOT use interns.

We're looking for a few motivated individuals who are interested in working as professional videographers, establishing a portfolio, and working with us to create consistent, high quality videos. The right candidates MUST BE RELIABLE, PROFESSIONAL, and have at least one (1) year of videographer experience. The qualified candidates will work on locations throughout San Diego County, with occassional assignments outside San Diego County (travel/lodging will be provided). Qualified candidates may also be required to work directly with our clients. Therefore, good presentation, reliability and communication skills are a must. Candidates will be required to adhere to our very specific videography standards, including: multiple cameras, dedicated audio, gimbal, maintaining shot list, file formats, submission methodology and consistent documentation. We are looking for individuals who are interested in expanding their videography skills and are passionate about furthering their knowledge of professional videography. Opportunities to move into full time videographer positions will be available to the right candidates, as well as the ability to work on other assignments (i.e. video editing, drone services, photography, etc.).

Although it is preferred that our sub-contractors utilize their own equipment, Fotility does have a robust inventory of equipment, including: various Nikon DSLR/mirrorless cameras and lenses, H6, Sensei/Rodeo mics, lighting, stands, backdrops, teleprompters and more. Qualified candidates may utilize Fotility gear, however, they will be paid a slightly lower hourly rate.

Fotility utilizes a storyboard process on every video shoot, so our clients, videographers and video editors are aware of how the final deliverable should flow and what shots are required to develop it. Videographers on location maintain a shot log (derived from the storyboard), and our QA team audits and renames all RAW files to match the shot log - thereby streamlining processes for our video editors.

The position will start with 1-2 videography assignments per month and is projected to grow rapidly to as we establish trust and faith in the candidate (usually over 3-6 months). The right candidate will be a sub-contractor (not an employee, so no taxes will be taken out), and they will be paid after each assignment via Venmo or Zelle. Pay scale will be an hourly rate, depending on experience. As the candidate’s skills and experience grows, so will the hourly rate!
