Blood Bank Technician

Technical Duties

• Collect blood samples from donors or patients following strict safety and hygiene protocols.
• Test blood for blood type, Rh factor, and infectious diseases (HIV, hepatitis, etc.).
• Prepare blood components, such as red cells, plasma, and platelets, for transfusion.
• Label and store blood products correctly in temperature-controlled environments.
• Operate and maintain lab equipment, ensuring calibration and sterilization standards are met.

Documentation & Records

• Maintain accurate records of blood donations, test results, and transfusions.
• Document storage conditions, expiration dates, and blood usage logs.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, such as those from the FDA, AABB, or local health authorities.

Coordination & Communication

• Work closely with doctors, nurses, and lab personnel to fulfill blood product requests.
• Monitor blood inventory and communicate shortages or needs.
• Participate in emergency response for trauma or mass casualty situations.

Safety & Quality Control

• Adhere to infection control and biosafety protocols.
• Conduct quality assurance checks and report abnormalities.
• Dispose of biological waste according to hazardous material guidelines.

Experience Required:- Minimum 3 - 5 Years
