BMS Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Building Management System (BMS) Engineer with strong experience in the testing, commissioning, and integration of Johnson Controls Metasys systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring BMS controls, field devices, HVAC equipment, and associated systems are installed, tested, and commissioned to meet project specifications and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities1. Testing & Commissioning

• Perform BMS start-up, testing, commissioning, and system validation for HVAC, lighting, ventilation, chillers, AHUs, pumps, VAVs, FCUs, and other equipment.
• Execute point-to-point testing, functional testing, and sequence verification.
• Troubleshoot field issues and coordinate with contractors and technicians to resolve deficiencies.

2. Metasys System Expertise

• Configure and commission Johnson Controls Metasys BAS/EMS controllers, including NCE/NCM/NAE/NIE/ADS/ADX platforms.
• Develop and upload BMS graphics, system databases, trend logs, schedules, and alarm logs.
• Integrate third-party systems (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, OPC).
• Modify control logic, parameters, and system sequences based on project needs.

3. Documentation

• Prepare testing documents, commissioning reports, as-built drawings, IO schedules, and method statements.
• Ensure all documentation complies with project and QA/QC requirements.

4. Coordination & Site Support

• Work with project managers, consultants, and contractors to ensure system compliance with design intent and project specifications.
• Participate in site meetings, system handover, and client training sessions.
• Provide technical support during project execution and post-handover.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
• 2-4 years of experience in BMS Testing & Commissioning (or as required).
• Hands-on experience with Johnson Controls Metasys.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls logic, and automation principles.
• Knowledge of network protocols (BACnet/IP, MSTP, Modbus RTU/TCP).
• Ability to read control drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and sequence of operations.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and a strong attention to detail.
• Effective communication and team coordination abilities.
