Job Summary
The BMS Engineer is responsible for overseeing the design, installation, operation, maintenance, and optimization of Building Management Systems (BMS) and building automation systems. The role includes managing BMS teams, coordinating with clients and contractors, troubleshooting complex system issues, and ensuring efficient operation of HVAC and MEP systems.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Responsibilities
- Lead operation and maintenance of Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Monitor and control HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, and energy management systems.
- Configure, program, and troubleshoot BMS controllers and software.
- Supervise integration of third-party systems with BMS.
- Analyze system performance and optimize energy efficiency.
- Attend and resolve critical alarms and system failures.
- Prepare technical reports, SOPs, and maintenance procedures.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Review control logic, graphics, and sequence of operations.
- Ensure all systems comply with project specifications and safety standards.
Team Management
- Supervise BMS operators and technicians.
- Allocate daily tasks and monitor team performance.
- Provide technical guidance and on-job training.
- Coordinate with MEP, HVAC, electrical, and IT teams.
Project & Coordination
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and clients.
- Participate in testing & commissioning activities.
- Review shop drawings, method statements, and technical submittals.
- Support project handover and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in:
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electronics / Instrumentation
- Automation Engineering
- BMS certification/training preferred.
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in BMS/building automation.
- Minimum 2–3 years in supervisory or lead role.
- Experience with major BMS platforms such as:
- Honeywell
- Siemens
- Johnson Controls
- Schneider Electric
- ABB
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and controls.
- Experience in BMS programming and graphics.
- Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, and other protocols.
- Ability to troubleshoot controllers, sensors, actuators, and networks.
- Familiarity with energy management systems.
- Ability to read and interpret MEP and control drawings.
Candidates with transferable Visa and Valid NOC are preferred.
