About this opportunity:

The Technical Lead – IP Security will act as the subject-matter authority within the MS organization, leading the operational excellence of the IP Security domain. The role involves guiding a team of engineers, owning complex security solutions, and ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of the customer’s IP backbone security infrastructure.

What you will do:

  • Lead the technical end-to-end operation of the customer’s IP-backbone security domain, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.

  • Provide senior-level expertise in managing, and overseeing maintenance activities, upgrades, and operational changes.

  • Guide and support engineers in troubleshooting and resolving complex IPBB security incidents across multi-vendor environments (Firewalls, IPS, Authentication servers, Load balancers, DDoS solutions).

  • Act as the escalation point for major incidents, driving root-cause analysis and ensuring timely and effective resolution.

  • Oversee data traffic behavior through firewalls, ensuring proper performance baselines and leading investigations into abnormalities or degradations.

  • Define security threats, assess risks, and develop mitigation strategies and action plans aligned with customer and MS security policies.

  • Implement and review IP-backbone security expansions, replacements, solution designs, and optimization activities.

  • Coordinate and manage high-urgency cases, including on-call escalations, ensuring quick decision-making and technical governance.

  • Engage with third-party vendors (3PP) for escalations, case handling, and solution optimization.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement by developing best practices, and knowledge-sharing guidelines for the team.

  • Support stakeholders with clear technical communication, documentation, and reporting.

The skills you bring:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Network/IP Security operations, including leading technical activities or mentoring engineers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications or IT Engineering (or equivalent).

  • Strong hands-on experience in IP Security technologies and network security architecture.

  • Expertise in multi-vendor Firewalls (Juniper SRX, F5, Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc.).

  • Solid understanding of telecom network environments and service provider security challenges.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and effectively.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions, drive decisions, and ensure alignment across teams.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Certifications are plus:

    • JNCIA-Junos

    • JNCIA-SEC

    • CCNA routing & switching

  • Strong command of the English language.
