Position Overview

The Clinical Supervisor for Behavioral Wellness Coaches (BWCs) provides leadership, oversight, and clinical supervision to BWCs delivering school-based behavioral support services. This role is held by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who brings expertise in behavior analysis, supervision, and school-based interventions. The Clinical Supervisor ensures quality of care, fidelity of implementation, and professional development for BWCs while maintaining compliance with organizational and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities

Supervision & Leadership

  • Provide direct clinical supervision and performance oversight to BWCs.


  • Deliver ongoing RBT supervision and mentorship in accordance with BACB standards.

  • Provide consultation and support on behavioral strategies, data collection, and intervention development.

  • Oversee onboarding, training, and development of BWCs.

  • Conduct regular field observations, performance evaluations, and team coaching.

  • Ensure alignment of BWC interventions with PBIS frameworks and applied behavior analysis principles.


Assessment & Clinical Planning

  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and behavior analytic assessments as needed.


  • Develop and review individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) based on assessment data.

  • Use behavioral data to guide decision-making and treatment planning for high-needs students.

  • Ensure BWCs are trained and implementing interventions with fidelity.


Documentation & Compliance

  • Monitor BWC documentation for accuracy, timeliness, and clinical appropriateness.


  • Ensure adherence to HIPAA, FERPA, and BACB ethical standards.

  • Maintain records of supervision, assessments, and treatment planning activities.


Collaboration & Communication

  • Serve as primary liaison between clinical leadership and BWC staff.


  • Collaborate with school staff, educators, and administrative partners on student behavior planning.

  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and school care coordination efforts.

  • Support crisis planning and de-escalation protocols in collaboration with BWCs and school teams.


What You’ll Need To Be Successful In This Role:

Education & Certification

  • Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field (required).


  • Active BCBA Certification in good standing (required).

  • Licensed or license-eligible in California (preferred).


Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in behavior analysis or school-based behavioral services.


  • At least 1 year of experience supervising RBTs or behavioral support staff.

  • Experience working with school-age children in diverse, underserved communities.


Skills & Competencies

  • Expertise in ABA principles, BIP development, and FBAs.


  • Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to analyze behavioral data and guide clinical decision-making.

  • Culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and student-centered approach.

  • Proficient in clinical documentation and use of electronic health records.

  • Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred, but not required.

Other Requirements

  • Valid CA driver’s license and reliable transportation

  • Must pass background checks and meet all school-site clearance requirements

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The incumbent in this position has no supervisory responsibilities.

  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred, not required.
