Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our team. Practical Skills Clinic is a small agency in Danbury, CT, specializing in Skills-Based Treatment (SBT). We provide honest, ethical services to our clients, ensure that all BCBAs maintain small caseloads so that high-quality supervision is possible, treat our employees with respect, and offer a drama-free workplace with a strong focus on the clients.

Practical Skills Clinic’s culture is unique: we do not expect BCBAs to manage unmanageable caseloads, and we are not striving to expand across multiple states or locations. Our owner continues to manage a caseload and works directly with clients when necessary. We maintain strong, collaborative relationships with the parents of our clients as well as the school districts we support.

We are a small agency providing high-quality ABA to children with significant needs, and we are looking for a like-minded BCBA who wants to learn the SBT model and be part of an incredible, supportive team.

During the first few weeks, the position will likely involve direct care, as we are transparent in our billing practices and know that insurance approvals take time. We also believe it is essential for any BCBA joining our team to know the client and staff well before stepping into a supervisor role. Rapport is imperative in our clinic setting.

Duties

  • Design, implement, and supervise behavior intervention plans based on applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles.
  • Conduct comprehensive behavioral assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine client needs.
  • Collect and analyze data to monitor progress and adjust treatment strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistency and effectiveness of interventions.
  • Provide training and supervision to behavior technicians and other staff members.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation, patient records, and treatment notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Conduct intake assessments for new clients and develop individualized care plans.
  • Ensure all services adhere to ethical standards and best practices in behavioral health and special education.
  • Educate families about behavioral strategies, progress updates, and ongoing support needs.

Requirements

  • Valid certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Experience working with children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder.
  • Strong knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and diagnostic evaluation methods.
  • Proficiency in data collection, medical terminology, patient assessment, and medical documentation.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills for working with patients, families, healthcare professionals, and educational teams.
  • Ability to perform patient care tasks with compassion and professionalism.
  • Experience in working within behavioral health settings or special education environments is preferred. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities while working within a supportive team dedicated to excellence in patient care.
