Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Sunshine Psychiatry, LLC, is an award winning clinic in search for part time board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners to help us with our growing practice. As a PMH-NP, you’ll be our go-to person for ensuring the best patient care possible. The job description for this position includes conducting initial psychiatric examinations, follow-up appointments for medication management, interpreting lab tests and overseeing patients’ mental health. You’ll be both a mental health provider and an educator, supporting mental health practices and helping people lead healthy lives. Our goal is to have you provide quality care for our patients while also ensuring you have a quality experience with us. At Sunshine Psychiatry, it is about quality, not quantity. You should have a minimum of one year experience as an outpatient PMH-NP. You will have to work closely with other healthcare professionals, so you should have a team spirit and a positive attitude. Patience, problem-solving skills, reliability, accountability and communication ability are required. You should be very comfortable working independently as part of a dynamic team. Responsibilities

Examine patients and their medical records
Order and review diagnostic tests (blood tests, genetic tests, etc.)
Diagnose mental health conditions and illnesses
Propose treatments for acute and chronic mental health illnesses
Prescribe medications with brief psychotherapy sessions
Maintain accurate records and schedules
Educate patients and their family members on mental illness prevention and treatment.
Oversee patients’ overall health
Promote good mental health practices
Skills

Proven experience as an outpatient PMH-NP in a clinical setting.
Expertise in mental health care practices
Knowledge of health and patient care regulations
Excellent communication skills
Strong ethics and reliability
Team spirit with a positive attitude
Patience and cool-headedness
Willingness to continue gaining knowledge and clinical experience
Valid FL PMH-NP license/certification
Valid DEA license
Master's degree; PhD is preferred
Autonomous practice license in Florida required.
