Position Summary

The Board Liaison is responsible for coordinating communication, logistics, and engagement efforts between the Board of Directors, executive leadership, and organizational departments. This role ensures that board members are well-informed, supported, and effectively connected to Rosecrance’s mission. Duties include communication, board engagement, governance support, meeting coordination, documentation tracking, assisting with board recruitment and onboarding, and providing administrative and project support to the President of the Rosecrance Foundation.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field
  • Preferred experience working with boards, executive leaders, or in a nonprofit administrative or governance role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to various audiences
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in documentation
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds, including donors, board members, and senior leaders
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Excel
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency insurance requirements
  • Belief in the mission and vision of Rosecrance

Responsibilities:

1. Work hours prescribed and any additional hours deemed necessary for the responsibilities assigned.

2. Serve as the primary communication link between the board and staff leadership, ensuring accurate and timely information is shared.

3. Attend and support all required board and committee meetings across all regions-including Champaign, Rockford, Iowa, Chicago. Ensuring accurate preparation, in-person or virtual participation as assigned, and follow-through on meeting logistics and action items. Ability and willingness to travel to board meetings required.

4. Maintain accurate board member records and manage required document collection/signatures.

5. Strengthen board engagement by maintaining consistent communication and keeping board members connected to the mission.

6. Partner with leadership to identify opportunities for board participation in events, fundraising, and mission-focused activities.

7. Support board recruitment and onboarding, including orientation facilitation.

8. Track action items from board and committee meetings to ensure accountability and follow-through.

9. Support implementation of governance best practices and assist with board self-assessments.

10. Partner with development staff to support board involvement in fundraising activities and assist with events as needed.

11. Serve as part of the Foundation team and assist with special projects as requested.

12. Engage professionally with high-level donors and board members.

13. Provide direct support to the President of The Rosecrance Foundation including calendar management, meeting preparation, travel coordination, and project tracking and deadlines.

14. Exercise confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics and organizational policy.

15. Deliver exceptional internal and external customer service.

16. Serve as a positive representation of the agency.

17. Assume other related duties as assigned by leadership.

Schedule: 8-hour shifts

  • Hours: Monday- Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
  • Shift: 1st

Work Location: Rosecrance Mulford Office- Rockford, IL

Work Mode: Hybrid

Compensation & Rewards (pay is based on education, experience, and credentials)

  • Starting Salary: $85,000/year
