Board Treasurer (VOLUNTEER)

IMPORTANT NOTICE: This is a 100% Volunteer Board of Directors position. Indeed requires a minimum wage entry to post, but please be advised there is NO financial compensation for this role.

ABOUT ANCHOR & LEGACY WITH A PURPOSE, INC. Our mission is to provide specialized mentorship and support for children and youth in the Dorchester community who have lost loved ones to homicide and violence. We are filling a critical gap by providing stability, healing, and a path toward a positive legacy for families navigating extreme trauma.

THE ROLE: BOARD TREASURER We are seeking a founding Board Treasurer to oversee the financial health of our organization. This person will work closely with President Ingram to establish our initial budget and ensure we are good stewards of every donation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Financial Oversight: Manage the organization’s bank account and track all income and expenses.
• Budgeting: Help create an annual budget to fund our youth mentorship programs.
• Compliance: Work with the President to ensure the annual Form 990 (tax return) is filed with the IRS.
• Reporting: Present a brief financial report at our monthly board meetings.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience: Background in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance (2+ years preferred).
• Commitment: Average of 2–4 hours per week (flexible).
• Ethics: A high level of integrity and transparency with financial data.
• Passion: A genuine desire to support youth and families impacted by violence in our community.

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Experience:

• Accounting or Bookkeeping: 1 year (Preferred)
