Boat Captain

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and licensed Boat Captain to command and operate vessels for crew transfer, cargo transport, towing, or project support. The ideal candidate will have strong navigation skills, knowledge of marine safety regulations, and the ability to lead a small crew effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and navigate boats safely for crew transfer, equipment delivery, towing, or survey support
• Plan and execute voyages considering weather, tides, currents, and navigational hazards
• Supervise deck crew and ensure all onboard personnel follow safety procedures
• Conduct pre-departure checks including engine, fuel, navigation lights, and safety equipment
• Maintain accurate vessel logs including voyage details, fuel consumption, and maintenance records
• Ensure compliance with all applicable maritime regulations (SOLAS, COLREGs, local port rules)
• Coordinate with port control, vessel traffic services, and project teams during operations
• Manage berthing, unberthing, and anchoring operations
• Oversee routine maintenance and report mechanical issues to the engineering team
• Conduct safety drills including man overboard, fire, and abandon ship procedures
• Ensure all required certificates for vessel and crew are valid and onboard
• Maintain proper lookout and avoid collisions at all times
• Enforce safety protocols including life jacket usage and emergency procedures
