This Bodily Injury Claims Supervisor position is responsible for leading a team of Bodily Injury Claims Representatives handling automobile liability claims involving injury exposures. The Claims Supervisor will provide guidance, oversight, coaching, and development to individual contributors while ensuring quality claim outcomes, exceptional customer service, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Protecting the company's assets through sound leadership, claims handling, and business practices is essential to success in this role. This person will assure delivery of (1) “best in class” customer service, (2) quality claims handling, (3) loss adjustment expense control, and (4) continuous improvement. The Bodily Injury Claims Supervisor will play a critical role in developing team members through ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management.
As a member of the claims leadership team, this individual will be expected to build strong working relationships across departments while contributing to the overall success of the Claims Department and Traders Insurance.
Key Accountabilities & Competencies:

Effectively leads, coaches, and develops a team of approximately 5–7 Bodily Injury Claims Representatives.

Provides ongoing guidance, oversight, and direction through regular coaching, performance feedback, and employee development.

Conducts claim file reviews to ensure quality handling, timely resolution, and compliance with company guidelines.

Assists adjusters with complex claim investigations, coverage analysis, liability determinations, negotiations, and settlement strategies.

Completes performance evaluations and supports employee growth through development planning.

Effectively communicates and executes operational procedures, policies, and processes with staff.

Monitors team productivity, quality, customer service, and other key performance indicators.

Demonstrates the ability to drive superior results through the knowledge and application of supervisory leadership skills and technical bodily injury claims expertise.

Demonstrates an ownership mindset with strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Ensures all operations are consistent with the mission, values, and direction established by Traders.

Builds and maintains positive working relationships with internal departments, legal counsel, vendors, and business partners.

Maintains proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other business applications.

Core Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.

5+ years of automobile bodily injury claims handling experience.

1–3+ years of leadership, mentoring, coaching, or supervisory experience preferred.

Experience handling claims involving state minimum policy limits.

Experience with bodily injury claim investigations, negotiations, and settlements.

Litigation claim experience preferred.
-
AIC, CPCU, or other insurance industry designation preferred.

Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
-
Ability to maintain adjuster licenses in required states.
