ALL US CITIZENS DIRECT HIRE AUTHORITY: This position is being filled using Direct-Hire Authority (5 CFR 337.201) for this occupation.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Operates, regulates, maintains, and repairs the Boiler Plant Unit of the Utility Systems Operation Section of Facilities Management Service.
• Safely and efficiently operate high pressure automatic gas and oil fired boilers and all associated auxiliary equipment, instruments, electronic/pneumatic controls and measuring devices in a steam generating plant.
• Operates the Chiller Plant and all utility systems and equipment associated with the steam and chilled water distribution systems.
• Monitors and controls Medical Center Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems.
• Monitor other medical center equipment through hardwired devices to the Boiler Plant, i.e., generators, intrusion alarms, space temperatures, etc.
• Maintain utility systems and related equipment in the boiler plant, i.e., valves, pumps, motors, and exhaust fans.
