Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. Duties
- Maintain accurate general ledger accounting by recording journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Perform bank reconciliations and account analysis to verify financial data integrity
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently, including invoice processing and payment scheduling
- Prepare detailed financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements, to support management decision-making
- Conduct payroll processing and related tax filings with precision and timeliness
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial tools to streamline bookkeeping tasks
- Assist with budgeting activities and provide support for governmental or non-profit financial reporting requirements
- Ensure double-entry bookkeeping accuracy by maintaining proper debits & credits across all transactions
- Perform account reconciliation tasks regularly to maintain accurate general ledger records
- Support audit preparations by organizing relevant documentation and ensuring compliance with internal controls
Experience
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles within corporate or non-profit environments
- Strong proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial management tools
- Knowledge of GAAP standards and governmental accounting practices preferred
- Demonstrated ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis accurately
- Familiarity with payroll processing, tax experience, and financial report writing essential
- Experience with accounts payable/receivable management and journal entry posting required
- Ability to handle high-volume data entry with 10 key typing skills at an advanced level
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles and general ledger reconciliation processes
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
