Full-Time Bookkeeper

Real Estate Company – Flexible Schedule (3 Days In-Office Required)

We are a growing real estate company seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Full-Time Bookkeeper. This position requires three days per week in the office with flexible hours. The ideal candidate is dependable, deadline-driven, proficient in general ledger accounting, and comfortable communicating with clients and internal team members.

Position Overview

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing the general ledger, assisting with reporting, and ensuring timely completion of accounting tasks. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to quickly learn and effectively use our accounting and property management software platforms.

This position involves heavy daily use of Excel, along with daily work in AppFolio and QuickBooks Desktop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage the General Ledger (GL) for LT and ST Rentals within AppFolio
  • Record daily financial transactions accurately and timely
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes
  • Prepare financial reports and summaries for management
  • Communicate professionally with clients regarding invoices, payments, and account inquiries
  • Ensure all financial deadlines are met
  • Maintain organized digital and physical financial records
  • Utilize Excel extensively for financial tracking & reconciliations
  • Maintain records and reporting within QuickBooks Desktop
  • Learn and adapt to evolving software systems and workflows

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting (real estate experience preferred)
  • Strong understanding of General Ledger accounting principles
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis, reconciliation tracking)
  • Experience with AppFolio preferred - not required
  • Experience with QuickBooks Desktop required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
