Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and supporting overall financial operations. Your expertise in various accounting software and adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) will ensure the integrity of our financial data. Responsibilities
- Manage daily bookkeeping activities including data entry, journal entries, and account reconciliations using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Quicken.
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Assist in payroll processing and related tax compliance activities.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards.
- Conduct account analysis and general ledger reconciliation to identify discrepancies or errors.
- Support budgeting processes by providing relevant financial data and insights.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all bookkeeping activities, journal entries, and account reconciliations for audit purposes.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles within corporate or non-profit organizations.
- Strong proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of GAAP standards and governmental accounting principles is preferred.
- Familiarity with double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, bank reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation is essential.
- Ability to perform account analysis, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting accurately.
- Experience with payroll processing and tax compliance is a plus.
- Excellent understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, accounts payable/receivable, and budget management.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; proficiency in 10-key typing is advantageous.
