WeVote is a nonpartisan get-out-the-vote nonprofit startup and a celebrated Fast Forward nonprofit technology grantee. WeVote is a movement of over 140 passionate volunteers (starting with the founders) who are building open-source mobile technologies that touch and mobilize millions of voters on Election Day. We Vote is seeking a volunteer bookkeeper within our operations group to record and maintain financial transactions using Quickbooks.  These financial transactions include purchases, expenses, revenue and transfers.  From there, the bookkeeper can produce financial reports for the management team in order to run the organization efficiently.  

• Work with management team to understand the budget 
• Enter financial transactions into Quickbooks monthly 
• Produce monthly/quarterly and annual financial reports 
• Provide financial data for tax filing 

Required knowledge and skills :

• 3-5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably for a small business or non-profit 
• Understanding of accounting principles and best practices 
• Data entry 
• Google sheets 
• Quickbooks 
• Account reconciliation 
• Budget tracking 
• Good communication skills
