Job Overview
Gulfcoast Research, an LLC/S-Corp, located inside the Kennedy-White Orthopaedic Center, is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. In this vital role, you will manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, maintain precise financial data in QuickBooks, and support our accounting functions. Your expertise will help us uphold compliance with accounting standards and provide clear financial insights that drive informed decision-making as we grow the business. This position can be performed predominately home based with scheduled in-office based on your availability.

Duties

  • Record and process all financial transactions using accounting software/QuickBooks
  • Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently
  • Prepare journal entries, including debits & credits, for various financial activities
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to verify account balances
  • Track clinical research patient visits in Excel and ensure all visits and pass-thru expenses are appropriately invoiced
  • Track and issue research patient stipends (typically paid through bank checks)
  • Read and understand Research Contract & Budgets to ensure all monies negotiated by Site Directors are collected on each trial
  • Assist with onboarding new staff and acting as a liaison with Health Insurance and benefits brokers
  • Prepare year end books for outside CPA firm to process tax return

Skills

  • Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks
  • Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and technical accounting concepts
  • Experience with some medical terminology, and a desire to learn, is a plus
  • Ability to perform bank reconciliation, journal entries, and account analysis accurately
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Familiarity with payroll processing, tax experience, and budgeting practices is a plus
  • Strong communication skills

We are a small, locally owned research institute with around 10 on/offsite staff members. The position will be to manage two QuickBooks companies (2 LLCs), track billable activities, and field emails relevant to duties. Will work directly with and report to Research Director/Site Director.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
