Job Summary
The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate and organized financial records We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support our day-to-day financial operations. This role is essential to keeping our business running smoothly and includes responsibilities such as managing accounts payable and receivable, maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and assisting with reporting. This role plays a vital part in supporting our operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and providing insights that guide business decisions. The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, capable of working independently, and proficient in QuickBooks and Excel reporting.
The Ideal Candidate Would Have:
- 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, ideally supporting a small to mid-size business
- In-depth knowledge of QuickBooks (desktop experience required)
- Strong analytical skills to review financial reports and provide actionable feedback
- Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines
- Experience investigating and resolving accounting inaccuracies
- Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with management
- Comfortable with presenting work to all levels of organization from direct counterparts to the President
Key Responsibilities:
- Record daily financial transactions, including sales, receipts, and payments
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable accurately and promptly
- Prepare and issue invoices; monitor and follow up on collections
- Maintain general ledger entries and assist with month-end and year-end closings
- Track, categorize, and analyze expenses
- Prepare and review financial reports; identify variances and recommend corrective actions
- Maintain organized and secure financial records
- Collaborate with management to address discrepancies and resolve issues
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and procedures
Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Advanced Excel knowledge
- Experience generating and interpreting financial reports
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving abilities
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role
- Familiarity with accounting principles and reporting standards
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information
