Title: Part-Time Bookkeeper/Admin Assistant
Pay Range: $25 – $32 per hour (based on experience)
Hours: 5 – 10 hours per week
Job Type: Contract 1099
About:
AAT Consulting LLC is a small accounting firm based out of Bothell, WA. We do not have an office, so the day-to-day work is done remotely, but do meet in-person occasionally for meetings and potentially for networking events. For this reason, we are looking for candidates that are local to the area. This position is scheduled to start off part-time and ideally, for the right person, ramping up in hours as the company grows.
Responsibilities (for clients):
- Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Quicken, ensuring all transactions are properly documented and categorized
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial data across accounts
- Prepare and process journal entries, accounts payable and receivable, and monitor outstanding invoices
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis
- Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental accounting requirements to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses, analyzing variances, and preparing financial reports that inform decision-making.
- Handle administrative duties such as data entry (including 10 key typing), document management, and correspondence to facilitate smooth office operations.
Responsibilities (internal):
- Send out AR invoices, monitor and follow up on outstanding AR invoices
- Respond to emails from clients, vendors, partners, etc.
- Tracking progress on projects, month-end close, and other tasks that require tracking
- If interested: creating and posting content on website (blog) and business pages (Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.), monitoring SEOefforts
Requirements
- Proven experience with accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms; familiarity with GAAP standards is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping, general ledger accounting, and financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, and account reconciliation
- Ability to perform bank reconciliations accurately and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office tools; especially Excel for financial report writing and data analysis
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, expected to be responsive during business hours (9AM to 4PM), but work can be done based on personal schedule as long as deadlines are being met
Additional:
- At this time, there are no benefits for this position.
- Should there be interest, there is an opportunity for commission with this role. The commission would not affect hourly rate. This would likely include attending virtual and in-person networking events local to the Bothell/Seattle/Everett areas.
- If it would be preferred, a discussion can be had on compensation being a percentage of client fees, rather than an hourly rate for this role. Meaning if the workload is 5 clients who each pay $500/month (for a total of $2,500 per month), the compensation for this role would be a percentage of that $2,500.
Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
