Bookkeeper (Contract)

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to assist with financial cleanup and preparation for the upcoming tax year. This role will begin with short-term cleanup work and may transition into an ongoing bookkeeping position based on performance and business needs.

Primary Responsibilities

• Review and clean up 2025 financial records
• Organize transactions and reconcile accounts
• Prepare books for accurate 2025 tax filing
• Set up clean bookkeeping systems and structure for 2026
• Provide recommendations to improve organization and tracking

Ideal Candidate

• Prior bookkeeping experience (small business preferred)
• Experience working with CPAs or preparing books for CPA review and tax filing
• Strong understanding of expense categorization and reconciliation
• Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar)
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Able to work independently and provide clear communication
