Bookkeeper – Remote Position

Coveted, a fractional CFO and financial services firm, is seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Bookkeeper to support our expanding client portfolio. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in QuickBooks Desktop, skilled at resolving complex bookkeeping issues, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

This is a remote role with quarterly in‑person team meetings and occasional client visits as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage Accounts Receivable, including invoicing, deposits, and customer account updates.
• Handle Accounts Payable, including bill entry, bill payments, and check processing.
• Oversee bank and checking account management, including monthly reconciliations.
• Enter and reconcile credit card transactions.
• Process payroll entries from third‑party providers or QuickBooks Payroll.
• Perform job costing and ensure accurate allocation of expenses.
• Review financial reports with guidance from a manager.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and correct QuickBooks errors from prior bookkeepers.
• Maintain accurate records using both cash and accrual accounting methods.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of bookkeeping experience with strong references.
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop.
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online is a plus.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent reading, writing, and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple clients, and meet deadlines.
• Solid understanding of the differences between cash and accrual accounting.

Education

• High school diploma required.
• Completion of a 2‑year community college program in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field preferred.
