Bookkeeper/Special Project

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper/Special Project professional to join our dynamic team. In this role, is Special Project and could lead to full time role. You will be responsible for managing accurate financial records, performing complex account reconciliations, and supporting various special projects that enhance our financial operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in accounting software and financial concepts while contributing to the success of our organization. You will play a vital role in maintaining compliance with GAAP standards, ensuring precise bookkeeping, and supporting strategic initiatives through meticulous financial analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the general ledger using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and account analysis to ensure accuracy across all financial statements.
  • Prepare journal entries, process accounts payable and receivable, and manage payroll functions with precision.
  • Reconcile balance sheets and perform general ledger reconciliation to uphold financial integrity.
  • Support governmental and non-profit accounting requirements, including compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Assist with budgeting processes and prepare detailed financial reports for internal review.
  • Conduct account reconciliation tasks, including debits & credits, account analysis, and 10 key typing for data entry accuracy.
  • Contribute to special projects related to financial software upgrades, process improvements, or audit preparations.
  • Collaborate with team members on tax experience tasks and ensure timely submission of relevant documentation.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all bookkeeping activities and support internal audits as needed.

Experience

  • Proven experience in corporate accounting or non-profit accounting environments with a strong understanding of GAAP principles.
  • Hands-on proficiency with popular accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, or equivalent tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and general ledger accounting efficiently.
  • Knowledge of governmental accounting practices and experience working within public accounting frameworks is preferred.
  • Familiarity with technical accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliation, debits & credits.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable/receivable processes along with payroll management experience.
  • Excellent skills in financial report writing, budget analysis, and account analysis are highly desirable.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks accurately under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
