Boom Loader Operator (Telehandler Operations)

Key Responsibilities

1. Machine Operation & Site Execution

• Precision Lifting & Placement: Operate the boom loader to lift, move, and place materials (pallets, steel, scaffolding, etc.) at height or across extended horizontal reaches with high precision.
• Material Logistics: Coordinate with site teams to unload delivery trucks and transport materials to designated staging areas or directly to the work face.
• Attachment Utilization: Competently use various attachments such as forks, buckets, or lifting jibs, ensuring they are correctly fitted and secured for the specific task.
• Site Mobility: Navigate the machine safely through congested site areas, ensuring stability and clearance at all times, especially when the boom is extended.

2. Maintenance & Safety Compliance

• Daily Inspections: Conduct mandatory daily pre-operational checks, including hydraulic systems, tire pressure, steering, brakes, and safety interlocks.
• Load Chart Adherence: Strictly follow the manufacturer’s load charts and safe working load (SWL) limits based on boom extension and angle.
• HSE Adherence: Follow all site safety rules, including the use of banksmen, deploying outriggers on level ground, and maintaining safe speeds within the construction zone.
• Certification: Ensure the machine’s third-party certification and the operator's heavy equipment license are valid and available for inspection.

3. Coordination & Reporting

• Collaboration: Work closely with site foremen, riggers, and banksmen to ensure safe and productive workflows.
• Activity Logs: Maintain accurate daily logs of machine hours, fuel consumption, and tasks performed.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• License (Mandatory): Must possess a Valid UAE Heavy Equipment Driving License (Category 8 - or relevant for Telescopic Handlers).
• Experience: Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience as a Boom Loader / Telehandler Operator, with at least 3 years of experience on large-scale construction sites in the UAE/GCC.
• Technical Skills:
• Expert proficiency in telescopic handler operations and load-handling geometry.
• Ability to read and interpret load charts accurately under various configurations.
• Strong spatial awareness and understanding of center-of-gravity principles.
• Language Skills: Basic proficiency in English is required for safety instructions and site communication.
• Soft Skills: High level of concentration, a calm demeanor under pressure, and a strong commitment to site safety.
