Job Summary
The Boom Loader / Telescopic Handler Operator is responsible for safely operating telescopic handlers (telehandlers) to lift, transport, load, unload, and position construction materials, equipment, and supplies on project sites. The operator must ensure safe equipment operation, perform routine inspections, and comply with all company safety policies and construction regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate boom loaders (telescopic handlers/telehandlers) safely and efficiently on construction sites.
- Load, unload, transport, and position materials, equipment, and supplies as directed.
- Perform daily pre-start inspections and complete equipment checklists before operation.
- Inspect forks, attachments, tires, hydraulic systems, brakes, steering, lights, and safety devices.
- Ensure loads are within the equipment's rated lifting capacity and follow load charts where applicable.
- Secure and transport materials safely without causing damage to personnel, equipment, or property.
- Operate the machine on uneven terrain while maintaining stability and safe working practices.
- Coordinate with supervisors, signalers, riggers, and other site personnel during lifting and material handling operations.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and routine servicing checks.
- Report equipment defects, malfunctions, or maintenance requirements immediately.
- Maintain daily equipment inspection and operation records.
- Follow approved traffic management plans and site access routes.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free from safety hazards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid operator's license or certification for operating telescopic handlers, as required by local regulations.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience operating boom loaders or telescopic handlers in construction projects.
- Knowledge of material handling, equipment operation, and construction site safety.
- Ability to read and understand equipment operating manuals and load capacity information.
- Basic mechanical knowledge of construction equipment is an advantage.

Working Conditions

- Must be physically fit and able to climb into equipment, conduct inspections, and work for extended periods.
Safety Requirements
- Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Comply with company Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures.
- Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
- Conduct pre-operation safety inspections before each shift.
- Never exceed the equipment's rated load capacity or operating limits.
- Ensure the work area is clear of personnel and obstacles before lifting or moving loads.
- Follow emergency procedures and immediately report unsafe conditions or incidents.
Preferred Certifications
- Telescopic Handler (Telehandler) Operator Certification
- Forklift Operator Certification (where applicable)
- Rigging and Slinging Awareness Training
- HSE or Construction Safety Training
- First Aid/CPR Certification (preferred)
Pay: AED2,200.00 - AED2,500.00 per month
