Responsibilities

• Safely operate a box truck while adhering to all traffic laws and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
• Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or hand trucks.
• Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs across multiple locations.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition; report any maintenance issues promptly.
• Assist with warehouse operations by moving materials within the facility as needed, utilizing manual handling practices and heavy lifting techniques.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating professionally with clients during deliveries and pickups.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, delivery documentation, and digital records using mobile devices or delivery management systems.

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or courier roles involving box trucks or similar vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of route driving, traffic regulations, and safety standards such as DOT regulations.
• Experience with warehouse operations, including manual handling, moving heavy loads, and operating material handling equipment like pallet jacks.
• Ability to perform safe lifting practices during load & unload activities; physically capable of heavy lifting when required.
• Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles and driving a personal vehicle for delivery purposes is a plus.
• Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude during interactions with clients.
• Competence in using mobile devices for route navigation, communication, and record keeping.
