At the YMCA of Rapid City, we're more than brick and mortar. We create a space where people of all ages and backgrounds come to grow stronger in spirit, mind, and body. For over 75 years, we've been deeply woven into the fabric of this community nestled in the beautiful Black Hills, offering life-changing programs and building relationships that last. Now, we're looking for a Branch Manager who is ready to lead with purpose and continue that legacy.
This position offers a unique opportunity to oversee one of the region's most important community assets. Our branch serves a diverse and growing membership base, and we're proud to partner with schools, local businesses, community leaders, and civic organizations throughout the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. As Branch Manager, you will guide the financial development and operational success of the branch by leading membership and program growth, annual fundraising initiatives, and key special events. You will develop and manage the annual operating budget, monitor financial performance, and ensure that our branch remains healthy, sustainable, and aligned with long-term strategic goals. You will serve as a visible ambassador of the YMCA in the community, building strong relationships with local businesses, schools, civic organizations, and government partners that enhance our impact and help us better serve families and individuals across our service area.
We're looking for someone who understands that the Y is more than just a gym. You'll be responsible for managing staff teams across departments like aquatics, youth programs, membership, wellness, and facilities, all while making sure our operations run smoothly, safely, and sustainably. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships, developing strong teams, and ensuring that the Y delivers exceptional member and community experiences every day.
This role requires both vision and follow-through. You should have at least five years of leadership experience, preferably in a nonprofit, YMCA, or mission-focused environment. Strong financial management skills are essential, as are the ability to lead people, think strategically, and communicate clearly. A degree in human services, business, or recreation is helpful, but what matters most is your ability to live out our values and inspire others to do the same. If you're short a degree, we'll happily weigh your extensive management experience in a non-profit setting against the requirements for the role.
We're a team that believes in showing up for each other and for our community. Our culture is welcoming, grounded in support, and driven by a shared purpose: to strengthen the foundations of our community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. If you're ready to take on a leadership role where your work truly matters, and where you can see the impact of your efforts every day, we'd love to hear from you.
Join us in building a stronger, more connected Rapid City. Apply today.
